DO NOT AFFECT YOUR CAMP WITH THE MOSQUITO PROBLEM

Mosquitoes are a difficult problem to bear. It causes itching, swelling, allergies and injuries. Especially if you go to the camp with children, very disturbing results occur.

There are various methods of dealing with the mosquito problem in the camp;

Choosing the right camping equipment is very important.

First of all, you can add a mosquito net to your caravan. Ideally, there are mosquito nets at all entrances to the caravan, as well as in the openings of the rooms. Keep these mosquito nets closed day and night, and always close them behind you as you pass through the trailer to prevent mosquitoes from following you.

You have to light a campfire.

If light attracts mosquitoes, on the contrary, fire scares them away. They really can't stand the smoke. Lighting your campfire or barbecue before dark will help prevent the arrival of mosquitoes.

You should avoid areas of stagnant water.

Female mosquitoes lay their eggs in stagnant water. That's why it's so important to keep yourself away from areas of stagnant water. So choose a dry place to park your trailer. For this, stay at least 200 meters away from water points such as lakes, ponds, swimming pools, water points...

Appropriate clothing selection

When night comes, replace your summer clothes with more covering clothes like vests and pants. This will make it harder for mosquitoes to bite you. In addition to protecting you from mosquitoes, especially in the mountains, you will also be protected from the breeze and temperature drops. There are also clothes treated against mosquitoes, but the products used may be of unnatural origin, do not forget to look at the composition.

Focus on aromatic herbs

Nature is our friend to protect ourselves from mosquito attacks. There we can find many herbs that act as active repellents. Eucalyptus, mint, basil, garlic and even the most famous lemongrass are plants that mosquitoes hate. Take these herbs with you during your stay to sweeten your meals. Otherwise, these herbs are sometimes available in the form of candles or natural sprays.

Adopt essential oils

Essential oils are also effective against mosquito infestations. Here, too, nature indulges us because many oils are possible: lavender, cinnamon, lemongrass, peppermint and even geranium are potent essential oils. Put a few drops on your skin, clothes, tent and even bracelets designed to repel mosquitoes. It is possible to mix certain oils to increase the effectiveness of the repellent.

If you have been bitten before, you can dilute 2 drops of lavender essential oil in vegetable oils such as sunflower or olive and massage the sting area to soothe itching.
